Storytelling KSU Student Exhibit
opens at Laurel Lake
March 5, 2010 – An exhibit of student work from the School of Journalism and Mass Communication's Visual Storytelling class at Kent State University will be on display in the Gallery at Laurel Lake, 200 Laurel Lake Drive in Hudson during the month of May. The exhibit is free and open to the public daily from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The exhibit includes more than 30 panels and presents the best student work from the first class in the fall of 2006 to the spring semester of 2009. More than 20 former students’ work are represented at the show, including the work of graduates and current students in programs ranging from visual communication design to marketing.
Gary Harwood, Kent State's chief photographer and instructor for the sophomore-level photography class, said the students picked their subjects and developed their own stories. Students spent about two to three days per week for eight weeks with their story subjects, taking thousands of pictures of people's everyday interactions.
For more information on the exhibit, contact Gary Harwood at gharwood@kent.edu.
