Laurel Lake and University Circle, Inc. announce
distance learning partnership
December
11, 2009 --
Laurel Lake Retirement Community is proud to announce a
new educational partnership with University
Circle, Inc. to offer free distance learning in collaboration with the
world-class museums, performing arts and educational institutions of University
Circle.
This progressive partnership, which will support the active lifestyle and educational goals of members and friends of the Laurel Lake community, is made possible through a $22,000 grant from The Reinberger Foundation.
Cleveland’s University Circle is widely recognized as an innovation leader in health care, education, arts and culture. Distance learning will connect Laurel Lake with a consortium of ten University Circle organizations via live, large screen video-conferencing, providing personal interaction with experts and behind-the-scenes access to collections for a fascinating array of professionally taught programs.
Organizations include The Cleveland Museum of Art, The Cleveland Institute of Music, The Temple Tifereth Israel, The Cleveland Botanical Garden, Case Western Reserve University, The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, The Cleveland Play House, Western Reserve Historical Society, WVIZ Ideastream and others.
Laurel Lake will host a special Distance Learning Kick-Off Event with The Cleveland Museum of Art in the Laurel Lake Community Room on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. Refreshments, a live demonstration and an overview of future programming will be presented
