About the Laurel Lake Encore Chorale
The Laurel Lake Encore Chorale, under the direction of Donna Anderson, rehearses weekly and performs several concerts each year. The Chorale is the first national affiliate of Encore Creativity for Older Adults  www.encorecreativity.org , established in 2007 to provide an excellent artistic environment for older adults, 55 and over, regardless of experience or ability, who seek performance opportunities under a professional artist. Today, Encore choral and dance programs are offered at multiple locations in the Washington D.C./Baltimore area, including a chorale at the Smithsonian Institution. Encore’s combined chorales (300 singers) have performed concerts at The Kennedy Center, the Smithsonian’s American Art Museum, and the White House Conference on Aging. Encore has been featured in U.S. News & World Report, CBS Evening News, the Washington Post, and in an Associated Press story carried in 400 national and international newspapers.

This summer, Encore will be conducting its second annual summer "sleepaway" choral camps for older adults at the famed Chautauqua Institution, New York, and at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Encore will also be hosting a Singing at Sea cruise aboard the Queen Mary 2©, cruising from New York City to Southampton, England. These events are open to any interested adult over the age of 55.
